All health information is collected and stored in a de-identified manner.

2. How Information Is Used

Data is at the core of Open Impacts’ mission to provide cancer patients with the most up-to-date and unbiased information on cancer treatments and resources. The primary usage of Open Impacts’ data is to provide the community with shared insights into treatment efficacy, safety, and impacts to quality of life. Information collected may also be utilized to facilitate cancer research efforts. Example research topics include but are not limited to cancer treatment outcomes, side effect severity, side effect frequency, hospital performance, treatment utilization patterns, and characteristics of long-term survivors. Information may also be used to improve website functionality, user experience, and patient outreach.

Personally identifiable data will never be shared, sold, or used without your explicit consent. In order to maximize the impact of research insights and to help keep Open Impacts’ services free for patients, de-identified data may be shared with healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, or other third parties.
