About Us

A Community of Insight, A Future of Hope
Open Impacts was founded with a single mission: to provide every cancer patient with the most up-to-date and unbiased information on cancer treatments and resources. While doctors offices and pharmaceutical companies are incentivized to promote treatments they already offer, OPEN goes directly to patients to compare hundreds of treatments administered at thousands of institutions to identify those with the best outcomes and the least disruptive side effects.
This is achieved by connecting cancer patients in a community to help them learn from the experience of other patients to help avoid poor outcomes others have struggled through and share in the victories others have enjoyed. Driven by the experiences of cancer survivors, OPEN provides a free resource for patients to access and share real-world data on treatment efficacy, safety, and quality of life while ensuring the highest levels of data privacy and security.

Informed Decisions Through Shared Experiences.
Patients often face uncertainty about how effective a new treatment is likely to be, how effective a hospital’s team is at administering it, and how the treatment has affected the quality of life of other patients. Even for drugs which have been studied for years, published data is frequently woefully insufficient to offer patients a complete picture of how different treatments are likely to compare. OPEN addresses this information gap by connecting patients to anonymously share their experiences. Lessons learned from the journeys of thousands of patients are combined to provide the OPEN community with powerful insights on which emerging treatments were harsh and ineffective, and which showed miraculous results with minimal side effects.
Knowledge is power—by working together to share our experiences we turn community insights into more informed decisions and treatment outcomes.
